Things to do and Places to visit

Gosport and its environs present a fascinating mix of attractions. Stroll along the Millennium Walkway to the award -winning Explosion Museum with its interesting insights into naval warfare, or set off in the opposite direction for The Royal Navy Submarine Museum that will both educate and entertain you.

Head over to Little Woodham and back into the 17th century for the 1642 Living History Village experience. Feel like shopping? Why not take a 10-minute ferry ride across the harbour to Portsmouth where close to the Historic Dockyard, you 'll find Gunwharf Quays outlet shopping and the awe - inspiring Spinnaker Tower that offers breathtaking views over the South Coast ... the opportunities are endless.

Why not try one of the following short trips from the marina ...

  • For beach lovers Alverstoke and Stokes Bay are safe and unspoilt
  • Gosport High Street has a market on Tuesdays and Saturdays
  • A short ferry ride takes you across the harbour where Gunwharf Quays has stylish bars, restaurants, 14 screen cinema, bowling, casino and shops galore.
  • The ferry will also take you to the world famous Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth including HMS Victory, HMS Warrior, Henry VIII's Mary Rose and the Naval Museum
  • If you fancy a walk why not try the Millennium Walk which extends for nearly 3 Kilometres from the Royal Navy Submarine Museum to Priddy's Hard and  Explosion, passing Timespace one of the largest sundials in the world and the Falkland gardens featuring a D-Day landing and Falklands mosaic.
