Getting to Brighton Marina
By Sea
When approaching Brighton Marina please call on VHF channel 80 or 37 or call 01273 819919. The entrance lies between the East and West Breakwater arms and is dredged to -2.0m C.D., but storms tend to drive sand in to form a bank just south of the end of the Eastern Breakwater and shoaling may occur in the entrance channel between dredges. For the latest position, contact the marina reception. The natural channel is buoyed by red and green markers.
When approaching from the west, please give the end of the Western Breakwater a wide berth to avoid exiting traffic. In heavy weather many vessels choose to approach from the south which avoids much of the backlash from the breakwaters.The entrance channel is buoyed to the inner entrance, which is marked by fixed red and green vertical lights.
Communications
A 24-hour VHF radio watch (call sign 'Brighton Marina') is maintained on channel 80.
Arriving By Night
At night, the breakwater lights can be lost in the general background lighting, although there is a high intensity lamp fitted to the Sector Light (Gp Fl W&R4 every 20 seconds).
Bad Visibility
When visibility in the marina entrance is less than 1000 metres the fog horn (two every 30 sec.) sited on the southern end of the Western Breakwater is activated.
Marina Reception
During the day in the summer months, a marina patrol vessel, call sign 'Brighton Marina Patrol' is stationed at the marina entrance.The crew will advise and assist with all berthing requirements.
In the absence of the patrol boat, on passing the Inner Entrance and entering the marina, the Visitor Pontoons (Pontoons 10 and 11) are located to port. Unless previously allocated a berth, visitors should moor there on arrival and report to the marina reception, which is clearly marked on the end of the West Jetty, on the first floor. Marina staff will then allocate a berth.

From the A27 take the B2123.Turn right at first set of traffic lights, signposted Brighton Town Centre, Racecourse and Marina Village. Turn left at second set of traffic lights, past the Racecourse and follow the signs for the Marina Village where there is parking for 1500 cars in the multi-storey car park and a coach park. Parking is free for berth holders with a valid car parking permit, please ask at Marina Reception.
By Bus
Brighton and Hove bus service operates a number 7 bus approximately every 15 minutes, from Brighton town centre (North Street or Dykes Road), to the Marina Village 24 hours a day.
By Rail
The nearest main line station is Brighton with regular connections to Chichester, Portsmouth and London.
